About Sullivan’s S&S Jewelers

Built on a foundation of love and a vow to serve customers with excellence, Sullivan’s S&S Jewelers is one of Brevard’s most respected jewelry stores with over 65 years of trusted service. Joe and Violet Sullivan’s vision was to create lasting relationships with customers for multiple generations, both in our family and yours. Decades later, the heart behind S&S remains the same. We are committed to providing exceptional care, fine jewelry, and unique gems for the most significant moments of your life.

A beautiful marriage of quality and commitment allows us to serve our customers with exceptional care. Building lifelong relationships with customers, jewelry suppliers, and jewelry designers enables S&S to provide high-quality jewelry to Brevard County. Our team consists of experienced, no-pressure sales associates, an established GIA Gemologist, and three outstanding jewelers who collaborate to create one-of-a-kind experiences and pieces. The commitment to quality service extends beyond your initial purchase. Every day, we offer jewelry and watch repair, and we custom design and re-purpose jewelry.

Our History

The story behind Sullivan’s S&S Jewelers is one sown with strength, faith, miracles, and courage. Joe and Violet Sullivan met as patients at The Crippled Children’s Hospital in Gastonia, North Carolina. Though both suffered from disabilities, nothing could stand in the way of their relentless persistence to follow their dreams.

They married in 1947, and the couple opened their first watch repair shop in 1948. Armed with a showcase won in a game of checkers and a small bank loan, Joe was determined to make his business a success.

The beauty of Brevard County, Florida, was incredibly enticing, and in 1955, Joe and Violet moved their family. Having sold their watch repair shop, Joe and Violet began another entrepreneurial venture and opened their first Brevard location in Historic Downtown Eau Gallie.

They opened three other locations over time, then built their current location in 1978. Through hard work and perseverance, they and their loyal staff built a thriving business and forged a legacy of commitment to excellence.  In 1978, the current location at 209 N. Babcock Street in Melbourne became the “one and only” store and remains that way to this day.

Their four children followed Joe and Violet into the jewelry and watch business. Joey, with an emphasis on hand engraving, and Doug and Mike, who learned jewelry repair and design, all graduated from Bowman Technical School. Their daughter Angie carried on the creative spirit by obtaining a degree in Interior Design from Florida State University.

The standard of incredible service set by Joe and Violet three generations ago is still alive and well. Mike and Angie are now the co-owners of the business. Michael Sullivan, Jr., Joe and Violet’s grandson, has made the jewelry business his career.

The family members and their dedicated and loyal staff carry with them the commitment to customer satisfaction. Dedication to providing personalized and honest service, along with showcasing a 3,500 square foot inventory of designer jewelry and watches, are just a few ways S&S continues to honor the legacy left by Joe and Violet Sullivan.
